A Japanese automotive company which produces mainly automotive and commercial vehicles and diesel engines.

Company founded in 1916 when Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd. in cooperation with the Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co. to build automobiles.

In 1972, Isuzu entered into an agreement with the General Motors Corporation when GM bought a 34% stake in Isuzu.
