Aug 3, 2023 at 19:00 | comment | added | Cofey | @MTA I just added another photo that looks like what you described. (cubcadet.com/en_US/electrical/…) I took it off, cleaned the contact a bit and plugged it back in and pushed it back all the way, but same thing. The green wire runs above the motor, under the plastic cover, and appears to come out the other side on the bottom and go towards the wiring harness. Do these sensors go bad often? Think there's a good chance of resolving it if I purchase a new one?

Aug 3, 2023 at 18:44 | comment | added | MTA | @Cofey I don't see an oil pressure sender in those photos. It would be on the engine. Without a wiring diagram, I couldn't guess the color. For examples of typical oil pressure senders on small engines, see this link: google.com/search?q=kohler+low+oil+shutdown&tbm=isch

Aug 3, 2023 at 17:49 | comment | added | MTA | @Cofey Suggest as a first step that you physically trace the wiring from the oil pressure sender to the hour meter and confirm that the wiring leads to a pin in the connector that you plugged into the hour meter. If it does not, the warning is bogus.
Aug 3, 2023 at 17:39 | comment | added | Cofey | @MTA, Great, thank you. I do have a multimeter, but I'm not very good at this kind of stuff, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Here's the URL to the hour meter kit that I purchased. The model number of my mower is passed through the URL and Cub Cadet says that it is verified for it. Their instructions state: "Easy to install. Simply plug into the zero-turn mower's existing wire harness.", so don't think I messed anything up, but will verify it's plugged in all the way. cubcadet.com/en_US/zero-turn-accessories/ultima-hour-meter-kit/…
Aug 2, 2023 at 18:22 | comment | added | MTA | @Cofey If you don’t know how to identify an oil pressure sender and/or or don’t know how to test it electrically and can’t physically trace the wiring on the mower with confidence, we’ll need the hour meter’s installation instructions and a mower wiring diagram.
Aug 2, 2023 at 18:21 | comment | added | MTA | @Cofey Yikes, that's not the hour meter for your mower that I found online. In order to answer your question, we need to know (1) does your engine have an oil pressure switch or sensor and (2) is the hour meter attached to it through wiring. If no to both, just ignore the message. If it has an oil pressure sender and the hour meter is not connected to it through wiring, again ignore the warning. If you have a sender and meter is connected, either there's a loose plug, a broken wire, a bad sender or you really do have low oil pressure, so test the sender with a volt or ohm meter.
Aug 2, 2023 at 15:59 | comment | added | Cofey | @mta, I've updated my post to include photos of what is displayed on the LCD. To install the meter, I just had to remove the back panel from what you see above and plug it into an empty plug/wiring harness. I will look and ensure it's snapped in all the way.

Jul 31, 2023 at 22:23 | comment | added | MTA | Apologies, I misunderstood your question. I thought you were saying that there's a low oil pressure warning light on the new hour meter. I found your hour meter online, and there is no oil warning light on it. So you must have a separate low oil pressure warning light and perhaps you disconnected its connector or broke its wiring harness when you installed the hour meter. Check that all connectors are firmly seated in back of the control panel.
