Unfortunately, Mrs. D YOU GOT BAD ADVICE. Suggested maintenance on a timing belt is 60k miles. Sounds like hype from the garage trying to do what they so often do.....rip you off. Do NOT go by one forum answer. The last poster only gave you doom n' gloom and didn't really answer your question. Other evidence suggests that your model vehicle is non-interference engine meaning, if the timing belt breaks it won't cause damage to the valves. But,in any case,60 k is the factory recommended change point for a timing belt. As for the rest of it? Pure hype on the part of the garage trying to get more money out of you,which by this late date they did. Always get a second opinion and take someone knowledgeable with you.
