I just recently installed an aftermarket alarm on a 2002 ram 1500. The alarm is an Avital 3100lx. When testing the lock and unlock functions I noticed that sometimes the horn would not work when pressing the lock or unlock button, and when pressing the unlock button sometimes the horn would blow once twice or three times. I hooked an LED test light up to the horn ground output and I found that the alarm would always ground the wire, however the horn relay wouldn't always switch. I checked this by unplugging the horns and listening at the tipm while pressing the lock and unlock buttons(while also looking at the led I hooked up to the horn output). Presumably this is due to the short pulse length. Is there anyway I can fix this, perhapse some way of extending the pulse length?
