I have a vw fox 2006 1.2 and have had it for just over 3 months. I have noticed it starts to misfire and the engine loses power sometimes coming to a complete stop after a stall or judder when revs are below 2000. This only happens after a heavy downpour of rain and usually the next day after it has rained when it is humid particularly now in the summer months. I have not been able to find a solution to this and have had fault codes read with intermittent P0302 misfire in cylinder 2 recurring again and again even after all ignition coils replaced with new ones, wires checked and spark plugs replaced to new ones. Does anybody have any similar problems? Or has anyone found a solution?

  • It is evident to me that it is an ignition problem, what you must find out is when the car is stationary, how the rain water gets to the ignition components. There probably a worn out seal somewhere that causes that problem. Bare in mind that high voltage components are more sensitive to moisture, so start checking those first... – Alimba Aug 16 '19 at 21:39
