I have a Mitsubishi L300 van 2005 and one of the doors is not closing properly, hence the light of "opened door" is constantly on. This drains my battery in two days, which I suspect that is way too quick for such a low consumption light.

However, that fuse is linked with the central locking system and if I take the fuse out or disconnect the battery I still cannot lock all the doors at once.

Any ideas for troubleshooting for a rookie? Thank you!

  • Do you know which door is showing as opened? Is the door ajar switch on the latch or is there an external switch? Can you identify what kind of signal the switch sends to presumably the body control module? If you can answer these questions you could disable or bypass the switch temporarily until you can fix the switch. – Ben Jun 1 '19 at 2:53
