My 2007 Subaru Tribeca has oil in coolant reservoir, or so my mechanic said when he changed the oil. No coolant in oil, just oil in coolant.

YouTube suggests oil coolant seal. Would that be a best first step, or am I fooling myself?

  • While there are numerous sealers which exist for sealing a coolant system, and more specifically the head gasket, I wouldn't personally recommend them. Putting sealers in a coolant system can clog up small valves and cause overheating later. – the_storyteller May 15 at 21:37
