Since two month I'm owner of a VW Passat 3.BG (Build year 2002, 1.6l, Benzin) and since my last drive the malfunction indicator light is on. Therefore, I thought about using an OBD2-Wifi Adapter to read out the error code. But I'm not able to connect to my car. Below are some more information about my tries/information about interface, adapter and software. Do you have any idea how to proceed? How to establish a connection and get the error code?
- Because of the interface and the build year my guess for the protocol is ISO9141-2
- ISO14230-4 (KWP2000) or ISO 15765-4/SAE J2480 could also be possible
- Source for protocol information
- Link to Amazon
- Supports ELM327
- I can easily connect to the established Wifi-connection
Software
- Torque Lite
- IP-adress: 192.169.0.10
- Port: 35000
- Car Scanner
- IP-adress: 192.169.0.10
- Port: 35000
- The only thing I can capture is one Voltage (I think from the adapter itself)
Problem with the car
My question is about the not-working connection to find out the error code. Nevertheless, in case anyone is interested: The milage of the car is just above 200.000 and the error occurred after a long drive (500k). I parked the car for a week, and when I started again, the error came up. Before the that the fuel consumption on a german motorway was at 7.3 liters and I could not measure exactly, but did not notice any difference. The power seem to be similar as well.
Thanks for your help.
