So a few weeks ago I went to start my bike and there was smoke coming from the underside of the fuel tank. On inspection the fuel gauge wires had burnt through the covers. Now when I go to start the bike there is a clicking noise and will not start unless it is jump started. I have replaced the fuel gauge, the battery and solenoid relay. I had found a fuse that was blown and replaced that aswell. I am now running out of ideas. Any advise??

  • Welcome to Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair! I think you've got a short somewhere. I'd bet you're going to have to check the wiring all around where the burnt wiring was at and see if it affected any of the other wiring. Also, you need to figure out why the fuel gauge wiring burnt in the first place (if you haven't done so already). I don't have any specifics for you. If you could edit your question and put in the year/make/model/engine of the bike in question, it might be of some assistance. – Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Dec 28 '18 at 15:51
