Which engine does your Subaru have? The 2.5L? What mileage is on the engine?

comment How do you detect and deal with a freon leak?
@Aerovistae, if you have the refrigerant put in at an automotive a/c place, tell them that you appear to have a leak so they can add some UV dye to the refrigerant. You then get to drive around for a few weeks, using the a/c and take it back. The leak(s) will show up under a UV light.

comment How do I know if my car battery is dead?
In that case you might still have a battery that's OK if it gets charged properly and holds a charge.

comment How do I know if my car battery is dead?
That alone isn't really an indicator of its health - some batteries last a lot longer than that depending on the climate and if it's been deep cycled before. Also, lots of short trips tend to reduce the lifespan of a battery whereas lots of long trips tend to increase it.

comment Audi a4 2007 2.0T boosts but poor performance, fuel economy
Check if the electrodes around the tips and down from the tips look sooty (mixture too rich) or if they're whiteish/tan. Here's a reasonable set of pictures to give you an idea what you're looking for: theultralightplace.com/sparkplugs.htm

The L-shaped electrode should be mostly white with current fuels but as long as it's not sooty I think the plugs sound OK. The whole thing also depends if you drive mostly short distances, if that's the case there's a good chance the plugs will have less white and more black on them.

What did the spark plugs look like? Sooty? Normal? Too white, as if the engine was running lean?

comment Replacing a LSD, what needs to be considered between 1, 1.5, 2 way?
My current one is a mostly daily driver but I'm slowly adding a few bits and pieces for track use (ie improved brakes and suspension and all that). The last two I owned in the UK attended the odd track day. Helps if you have a track within half an hour from home, which I don't anymore.
