Why did my car stall when I used the foot brake? Talking fast and loose again - I had a brain fart and couldn't remember the name of the vacuum booster. The connection between the air-pump nature of the engine generating vacuum assistance is admittedly kind of a long mental jump though so I'm going to take it out. I'll replace it with additional mechanical load. |

Have a 2013 chevy cruz have a funny sound when applying the brakes. The drums, pads and shoes among other things were replaced Please any thoughts? Here are some suggestions on describing the sound: is it a squeak or a scrape? How loud is loud? Louder than the engine? Louder than the radio? Can you hear it with the windows up or down? Does the sound only happen with the brakes? How quickly does it go away? Some information like that would help us provide more useful suggestions. |

My car's coolant temperature reaches almost 100 C / 212 F in a fast pace Yes, I had to do exactly this when I had my radiator hose blew. Driving around in big clouds of steam while roasting alive inside the car is not super duper fun. |

Why does a Turbocharger only produce boost when the engine is under load @BrianKnoblauch, I'm rereading what I wrote and I agree that I conflated enough points that it's confusing for a novice reader. For example, I'm mushing in aspects of my car (in stock tune) without being explicit that it's more complicated than just boost <-> vacuum. I'm going to rewrite the answer. |
