Water with infinitesimally small pieces of glass? My mouth is cringing at the thought!

comment How can I keep stray cats off my car?
Tested this last night with four test subjects, ages 15, 14 8 and 7. Three females, one male. None of the subjects were afraid of the cucumber. One of them tried to gently nibble on the cucumber. Conclusion: cucumber not recommended for feline control.

@Xen2050 a little bit of both, i suspect, but my experience is yes, this would actually work (until it rains, but if you get a better box than cardboard they will sit in that too). The only problem is if it attracts another cat, but in that case they'd be fighting over the box and probably not care about the car.

For the two seconds it takes to try rolling down the window, you might as well try it, right?

comment What is the most efficient method of getting your car unstuck from snow?
To further 200 success's line of thought, more than your frame alignment can be damaged in such an event. The kinds of damages that happen in such an event (alignment, hose, leak problems) are usually not noticed immediately, but continue to get worse until they cause a big problem.

comment Should I fill my tire?
@TMN Alright, alright, technically you can move the vehicle, sure. I should have added weasel words like "without major damage" or "in any recommended manner"...

I'd also point out there's a difference between running low at 29 when you're recommended at 30-34 and running low at 22. After a low enough pressure, you simply won't be able to move anymore. If you're one or two low, you probably should get it filled, but hey it's super cold and you're getting an oil change next week - probably be fine. But 22, I'd go to the pump at the next available opportunity.

comment Is a tire with exposed wire safe to drive on?
When this happened to our car, we took it on the road exactly once - when it was time to go to the dealership. (The incident that caused the tires to be exposed also did a number on the brakes... and we decided it was time to get a new one...)

comment Does the amount of fuel in the tank matter?
The weight of the gas depends on weather, but the mass of the gas is constant. And the drag on mileage is caused by mass, not weight.

So would you say it's unlikely that they replaced the pump when they replaced the outlet?
