Hello, world!

I enjoy using my experience to help others. That is why I am active at a number of other sites in the StackExchange network on topics that interest me.

valuable flair!

I'm something of a Swiss army knife both professionally and in private, able to juggle a wild variety of things at once. I've worked in every kind of business that uses software. I'm also very good with tools, both IT and mechanic. Whether you need software design or assembling some IKEA furniture, I'm your man for the job. I'm generally soft-spoken but driven by clear principles.

I'm a twin, I've lived in five countries, I speak four languages fluently and two more embarrassingly. Also, being a father routinely develops my patience which is useful for moderating on StackExchange too.

I am not a mechanic, not even a homebrew one... thanks anyway :-) Is there a cheap way (kind of test strips, or canary birds, or something) to test for CO presence in the cabin, rather than actually checking the piping?

comment Diesel vs Petrol motorcars. Pro's and cons?
In Europe, diesel has been at least 10-20% cheaper since forever but in the past 2-3 years the prices are nearly identical. I've only once seen diesel to be more expensive than petrol in Austria; never more expensive in Denmark - just to provide two points of data.

That makes a lot of sense, @ManiacZX. The service shop that did the A/C work said they'd checked the exhaust for leaks and found none, but you make me want to invest money in a second opinion... I certainly don't want to overlook carbon monoxide!

Thanks! I tried "ventilation" but it was rejected, so I entered "air-conditioning" which was then converted to "ac". Please consider setting up a tag alias for "ventilation"->"hvac".
