Clutch catches VERY high, is this bad? @jcm I do not believe there will be any down-the-line problems. The variance in where the clutch grabs is wholly dependent on the levers in the clutch-pedal mechanism. Only if the levers that actually cause the clutch plate to engage got out of alignment with each other would the clutch plate not be engaged with the clutch pedal all the way out. |

Is high octane fuel a requirement for high-compression engines? @Ukko Thanks for the clarification, I was unaware of that! |

Engine revs high 5th gear manual transmission @SeanReifschneider I had another thought, it might be if this is only happening in 5th gear that it is probably the transmission and not the clutch. My father's car had the 5th gear get 'spun out', where the 5th gear was worn down compared to the rest of the gears causing slippage. He took it to Honda and had just that gear replaced for much less than a new transmission. |

Is high octane fuel a requirement for high-compression engines? @Ukko I agree that the ratio reported is generally not the boosted ratio, I believe the ratio will change when under boost since the amount of air in the cylinder will be greater before compression, hence higher compression ratio. I think :-) |

Least wear-and-tear, most fuel efficient method of coasting in a manual transmission car? @yhw42 my understanding is also that it is safer to coast with the transmission engaged. If the engine dies for some reason while coasting and the transmission is NOT engaged then you lose the hydraulic braking power but if it is engaged then even if the car were to die, the momentum keeps the engine turning providing the power for the hydraulics |

Options for fixing Nissan Quest rear motorized hatch? You might be able to get the motor rebuilt. It alls depends on how the original motor was built and if it is capable of being rebuilt. |
