comment Best way to approach a tire with a bubble in the sidewall
if there is a bubble in the sidewall, the tire has a defect in manufacture and it should be replace IMMEDIATELY. The tire can blow out without warning. I believe most tire shops will prorate a replacement of the tire since this is almost always a manufacturing defect and not a result of driving habits.

comment Is there a way to put Prius with dead battery into neutral?
ah, the law of unintended consequences strikes again! while the fancy stuff is nice, it is one of the hindrances of electronically controlled vehicles

comment Where is the fuel filter(s) located on a 2006 VW Golf?
I'm trying to get a frame of reference of the image. Is the filter near the fuel tank or is it in the engine compartment?

comment Clutch catches VERY high, is this bad?
@jcm I do not believe there will be any down-the-line problems. The variance in where the clutch grabs is wholly dependent on the levers in the clutch-pedal mechanism. Only if the levers that actually cause the clutch plate to engage got out of alignment with each other would the clutch plate not be engaged with the clutch pedal all the way out.

comment Engine revs high 5th gear manual transmission
@SeanReifschneider I had another thought, it might be if this is only happening in 5th gear that it is probably the transmission and not the clutch. My father's car had the 5th gear get 'spun out', where the 5th gear was worn down compared to the rest of the gears causing slippage. He took it to Honda and had just that gear replaced for much less than a new transmission.
