How do I select the right oil for my car? your answer is contradictory - you say "Your engine will last longer if you use synthetic" and in the next paragraph "Provided you change your oil on schedule, you won't be doing anything wrong by buying conventional oil." My understanding aligns with your latter quote that mineral (conventional) oil is fine as long as it is changed often enough. With that said I just purchased a 95 land cruiser and will be using Mobile1 0W40 (fully synthetic) - and yes it's expensive at $9 per quart (and i need 8 of them per oil change!). |

Good template for keeping maintenance records? Because this is just for my family's vehicles I cannot really justify the $40 per month entry fee. Thanks for the link though and it should be helpful to others looking for this type of information. |

What is the best overall ODB2 scan tool? I am also in the market for an OBD II reader and have come to the same conclusion that a PC based solution is the way to go because of all the added features you get, and the unlimited possibilities based on what software is written for it. I have also come across a couple of open source projects at sourceforge but unsure of how well they work. |
