Running with straight water as coolant in the summer. Is it fine? This makes the most sense, further research of my own is saying the bi-yearly flush is a bit excessive anyways. Thanks |

Running with straight water as coolant in the summer. Is it fine? I live in New Mexico (the state between Arizona and Texas) and we have very hard nasty water. But that is what water softeners are for. With all your "betting", how much money did I win? :p |

O2 Sensor Error after replacing spark plugs? Then again, I don't know the going rates in your area. |

O2 Sensor Error after replacing spark plugs? $260 for replacing an O2 sensor is a little high in my opinion. Most/all the places I have taken my vehicles at the very least apply the diagnostic fee to the repair. He charged $160 beyond the fee for replacing a $40 part that probably took under an hour. |

2010 Toyota Corolla - pumping gas - the gas pump kicks off constantally I have a car that does this too, but only at certain stations and even then only when I put the nozzle into the filler neck as far as it could go. When I backed it out 1/2 to 1 inch it filled fine. |

BMW E30 M20 oil warning light goes on on hot days but the motor sounds and performs fine You have probably done this, but check your oil levels or you may end up with a seized engine. The "red engine oil" light is a a warning that oil pressure is too low, which is usually caused by lack of oil. |

All weather tires vs winter tires Not an answer, but if you go with 2 sets of tires. I would suggest getting studded winter tires. They may not do much in fresh snow, but they have saved my bacon several times on ice and snow/ice compact. It all depends what kind of weather you have though. |

Why should winter tires not be used at summer? Heat is a huge issue, especially if we are talking about studded winter tires. |

Is the vent from the pcv valve back into the air intake really needed? I totally understand. I don't plan on being "that guy" either. I was legitimately curious as to why it had to return into the air intake. :-) |

Will stock tires from a toyota yaris fit a 2004 cavalier I am not a tire person so I can't speak for compatibility, but I looked up the tire sizes for anyone else. 2011 Yaris base model sedan has 175/65-14. The 2004 Cavalier base model sedan uses 195/70-14 |

Is the vent from the pcv valve back into the air intake really needed? First: It would be completely legal where I live to remove it. Second: You have answered my question. It is entirely for environmental reasons and isn't avoidable for street cars. Third: I am guessing the environment and legality are matters you take very seriously. To that, I say. Take it easy, I am not a criminal and in essence all I asked was, "Why do cars vent dirty air into the air intake? Can I use ... to avoid it?" My secret goal isn't to destroy the Ozone layer. |
