comment Scooter won't start
I wouldn't have expected the manual to have diagnosis instructions, but I would expect it to have a parts list and locations for each? If not, I googled your scooter type and found PDF manuals for engine and electrics, so the information is freely available.

Mike - I am not talking about taking a warranty to the dealer. I am taking about the warranty they give you on the pays they fit. The other content of your comment is exactly what I said in my answer.

comment Bumpy ride after brake, strut replacement?
Are you seriously lumping all mechanics in with some who are rude? That's like saying there are no honest lawyers, politicians, or in fact any industry at all. There are some amazing mechanics, some who go the extra mile for no extra reward. Some of whom may be on this site giving free advice and guidance. I know my mechanic has sorted out various things for me that he should have charged for. Simple reason for the edit - it added nothing to the question at all, and in fact could lead to you getting downvotes.

Edited to clarify, and removed unnecessary snark.

comment Chevy Cruze with a funny sound when applying the brakes. The drums, pads and shoes among other things were replaced
Please describe the noise. 'Funny' doesn't tell us anything. If it is a squeal or a grind then we have a range of questions which cover this off so use the search function first.

comment Shutting off fans at highway speeds
Yeah - the power requirement for AC is almost all the compressor. The fans on these things are low power as they don't need to move air fast, just keep it moving.

comment Amp Install Question. Splice in pre or post factory amp?
So do you have a separate factory head and amp or is it all in one system?

comment When I remove a spark plug is it bad news if dirt or grime falls into the engine
Had to Google Shop vac as I had only ever heard of it in the context of a Jonathan Coulton song. Yes, vacuuming can work well.

comment Switching from Reverse to Drive - always stop completely?
This is only true for some cars, generally newer ones. This can damage many older cars.

This doesn't really answer the question.

It sounds like he is getting the solenoid to pop but not when the trunk is almost closed, which would make me think more about worn wiring...

comment How reliable is a second-hand Subaru 2.5 RS 04-05?
Think I got to 150k in my first, 120k in my second and am on 80 in my third. Each change has been to get a faster one, not because of mechanicals :-)

I would think it shouldn't warp your crankshaft but I am interested to know if anyone has experience in this area.

Firstly, have you read the related question in the sidebar to the right? mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/232/…

Hi cinelli - while correct, this doesn't really add anything to the answers already given.

comment 2006 Nissan Titan makes odd sound, but only at certain speeds
If it is only at those speeds then there is a resonance somewhere. Do those speeds correspond to a specific RPM? If so then there is something related to engine speed - perhaps mounts. If it is not related to RPM then check wheels, shocks, bearings etc

comment What modifications need to be made to an engine to enable higher safe RPMs?
Was an excellent documentary just on the stresses in F1 engines at 18000rpm. Astonishing that they don't just rip themselves to pieces, as they are so close to the limit of manufacturing capability.
