comment Clutch less shifting - why does it work? Is it bad?
While this is correct for the vast majority of situations, for various racing scenarios you learn a skill which removes the wear on the synchros, and that is rev matching as you hit neutral on the gear change. This is most useful on downshifting as it is fast - you don't need to wait for the synchro to spin up. Done correctly it can make a heel-and-toe downshift completely smooth. It does take a lot of practice though.

comment Major electrical melt down in wiring
This is unreadable. Can you edit the title to actually ask the question you want to ask, and edit the question itself to be readable.

comment What disadvantages a car with 4-speed transmission have compared to 5, 6 or 7 speed with similar engine?
Chilljeet - of course we could change gear ratios if we want. Not really applicable to normal road cars, which is the general case I am answering here.

comment How long should I let me car warm up in the winter?
Paulster2 - I don't think that law still exists. It may be a local council regulation in London still, but smog has not been an issue since the late 1800's here :-)

comment Will anti-Freeze leave behind residue?
The question isn't necessarily relevant - unless you know that all that was in there was anti-freeze. What records are there of the pre-storage process?

comment Front tires hitting struts
Can you clarify - is there clearance when the steering is forward but not when turning? Or is it the shocks compressing that makes the tire hit? Either way it's not the tire manufacturer - as long as you have the right size tire on, the manufacturer is irrelevant. Photos would be a useful help

comment Does the air screw only affect the pilot jet?
You'll probably need to add information such as what make of motorbike etc. Otherwise this is unlikely to be answerable

comment first “non-replaceable” parts to break
Juann - good car choice! Mine's the Litchfield Forester STi (currently a 400bhp Impreza on slightly shorter stilts). Additional rust area - arches will go not long after doors

comment Can I still use OEM steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit?
In looking into the specifics for your setup, I don't think you'll have any luck doing it this way unless you are experienced with disassembling and modifying electronics.

comment Does a strut tower bar have any useful effect on chassis stiffness for a car with 100K miles?
draksia - yes, I regularly replace struts, bushings, entire shocks :-)

comment Low beams don't work but high beams do. What do I do?
What have you checked - have you checked the bulbs? Most likely scenario is they are blown. It happens. If they are fine you need to look at wiring and switches.

comment what engine oil does a 1992 subaru liberty auto stationwagon need? Answers in “w” units please
It will depend on the engine size and running. Subarus typically use 10W40, 5W40 or 10W30 but your manual will tell you which you need.

comment How to assemble a piston ring for cars
What exactly are you having problems with? What have you tried? And also, what type of engine (as it may affect the installation process a little). Are you trying to understand what order to fit the rings (oil control ring, seal, etc)?

comment Huge oil leak but plug still there
If it is just around the filter or sump plug it should be very easy to sort out. Damage-wise, it will depend on how long you ran it with low oil.

comment Why would a vehicles exhaust sound significantly deeper after a broken timing belt replacement?
This does not provide an answer to the question. To critique or request clarification from an author, leave a comment below their post - you can always comment on your own posts, and once you have sufficient reputation you will be able to comment on any post.

comment What would cause a clutch master cylinder to go bad?
CommaToast - it's worth posting this as another question, rather than do it in comments - comments are temporary on Stack Exchange - used to request clarity, but then deleted.

comment i heard a loud whistling/squeeling noise coming from the front tires of my 2004 subaru outback AWD.
Yep - I had a piece of grit stuck between a rotor and pad. It sounded terrible but was only a couple of millimetres across.

comment Why is tire sidewall height expressed as percentage of width?
Asking 'why' seems offtopic and irrelevant. It may be legacy, but it doesn't change anything you need to know to choose tyres.
