2004 Ford Focus engine cover would not budge after all screws are removed +1 for the rubber mallet suggestion. Worked for me many times. Those Haynes manuals always make it look so easy :) |

Is it possible to disable beep for opening door before shutting off the engine? It is most likely a feature that just gets carried over each year. It is an alert so you don't lock your keys in your car accidentally. mikes makes a good point, it may be a feature that is programmible with your car. If not, you could always take it to Toyota and see if they can do anything for you. |

Dashboard lights are dim? Similar to what jensgram said... My wife's Civic was the same way after replacing the battery. Instead of the knob or dial I was used to, you had to press the +/- buttons on the dash. Check your owner's manual to see if yours is adjustable like that. |
