comment Why don't motorbikes have chain covers?
I would also add that the bikes above are marketed in countries where they are used as family vehicles. Kids legs and wives dresses are often hanging over the side near the chain, so its a real safety thing.

@theUg yeah break in was fine - I followed the manual and kept revs under 4K for the first 1500klm. I did an oil and filter change a few weeks back to synthetic but the issues is the same.

comment Slight dent in motorcycle oil filter: bad for flow?
Yeah it probably is ok. But I stupidly did the damage after I put in the new oil and was putting on the protective cap over the filter (ironic I know) so I would have to replace the oil again to replace the filter. Haha you mean Griffith on the Gold Coast? My brother went there too
