What do you call the "piece above it" ? The tubes you see are precisely held by that bolt :(

comment Gasoil and fuel are known do contain a lot of undesirable wastes. Worth filtering them before use?
The real starter behind my question is the fact that Fuel Tanks of cars get their bottom filled with a disgusting kind of "black paste" after a few years, which seems to be the result of impurities accumulating

@BobCross: by "before use" I meant, "before putting the few in the car". Fuel that is sold is known to contain lots of crap that damages the engine, and that accumulates in the fuel tank. The goal is to get rid of that crap and pour Pure Diesel in the car fuel tank.

comment Engine suddenly died on uphill, then went back to life after a few tries
@Paulster2: Thanks for the lead Paulster. I must add that now the car works fine, but that it can have a few issues when I go on a steep (climbing) road. Also when I start the car after a long inactivity period (1 day), it requires me to hold the switch in a "start" position for a long time ! Then the engine progressively starts ... and there a HUGE plummet of fumes gets of the exhaust pipe.

PS : today, I had to take the same road again, and the problem happened again. It seems it occurs when the car is tilted behind, I.e. when I am climbing a hill. Then Gasoil may not come from the fuel area to the engine ?

many thanks for the comments. I'll check the fuel pump. What I don't understand is that it works the rest of the time. The temperature (of the exterior air) is about 3 degrees centigrade.

comment Should I throw away my wheels after they bumped in the sidewalks?
@BrianKnoblauch: not so violent to be honest. Just was driving at about 30km / h and the border of the sidewalks was kind of coming into the street... Just rolled over the edgy part.

comment How to replace a BMW E36 318 TDS's stereo?
Thank you for the answer. I ended up inserting 2 little iron shafts (2mm thick) on each side, and I drew the autoradio out. Didn't disconnect the battery, but put the car's switch on the 2nd position (just before ignition) as recommended by the manual. Everything went fine, except the antenna that seems to be less efficient now.
