comment Switching from Reverse to Drive - always stop completely?
I assumed you had an automatic. Oops. With a manual, it puts a lot of wear on the synchronizers to catch up the difference in speed, the larger the worse it is.

comment How do I weigh mileage against time when it comes to scheduled maintenance?
Depending on the location of the water pump, some manufacturers always say R&R when the timing belt is off, because if it fails it can take the timing belt with it. That and it will require removing the timing belt again to replace it (which can be removed but put back in place again, unless it gets contaminated).

comment How do the audio controls on the steering wheel communicate with the radio?
I know of one car, the 1984 50th Anniversary 300ZX, that used RF to communicate cruise control and stereo controls to the car. However, it still used the clockspring for power.

comment What is the cause of belt squeak in the morning?
That and just overcoming the static friction of all the accessories upon initial startup, as well as the coefficient of friction of the belt itself will be lower when cold.

comment Nissan Qashqai camera recorder
@AhmedNuaman, I think I misunderstood your question. This video system is an option specific to the Nissan, it sounds like, so you would be hacking your existing system up to record. This may be as easy as diverting the video cables to a added DVR, or if the format from the cameras is proprietary, a lot more work...

Ok, some bushing of somesort. Your best bet would be a fiche with an exploded view and and part numbers. I don't know where you could find one for Saabs.

Agreed. The weight you would need to do any immediate damage would be causing other problems...
