Why might I experience a power falloff after starting my car with the AC On? It may also have a malfunctioning idle-up solenoid for when the A/C is on. |

Timing belt sound - time to replace? Puttering and other rhythmic sounds are typically combustion related (plugs, exhaust leaks, etc.). Timing belts, belts, pulleys, and wheels typically squeal or make other more solid "tone". One way to narrow it down: Does the noise change with RPM or vehicle speed? Does it appear when in park/neutral and can you vary it by revving the engine then? |

Timing belt sound - time to replace? +1, To the OP, does the sound get louder when you are accelerating? Mash the gas in neutral (or in a high gear on the road, if you can hear it), and if the puttering gets more pronounced it'd definitely by an exhaust leak. |

What essential preparations should I take before winter driving? There we go. That's what I meant. |

What essential preparations should I take before winter driving? Doesn't have much to do with being prepared for the winter, as it does car upkeep. |

Does torque decrease mathematically? The torque at the engine will be the same. The torque at the wheels would different. Not sure if it's directly correlated to weight, which is what you seem to be asking. |

Thumping from rear of car after shutdown: EVAP system? I have a similar issue with a 2008 GTI. I was thinking fuel/emissions related. It sounds like a motor/pump of some sort? Mine does this while driving sometimes (and it's not the fuel pump, AFAICT). |

How to diagnose ABS problem (ABS light on) on a 1992 Volvo 940 turbo diesel estate? 1992 is OBD-I, which is pretty much proprietary/manufacturer specific diagnostics. Your best bet is a Haynes or similar manual for that model. Otherwise, what Sam Jones said. |

Car driving experience not smooth You'll have to be more specific. What isn't smooth? Is it at a certain speed? When turning? When going over rough terrain? What? Also, I highly doubt you can notice any change in engine smoothness after an oil change--save for the placebo effect. |
