Does the tachometer provide any indication of fuel usage? Additionally, engines can be more efficient at certain speeds than others, depending on load. For example, hyper-milers like to "Burn-cruise", where if they have to accelerate, they do it quickly/aggressively to put the car close to its peak torque, which is typically the more fuel efficient per HP produced. |

Car Cigarette Lighter Keeps Blowing Fuse You'd have to remove the fuse to get an accurate reading of current. |

Car Cigarette Lighter Keeps Blowing Fuse Ford's cig. lighters used to be battery powered. Which is annoying since most devices will drain your battery. Now they are accessory powered, at least on my 2012 Focus. I find it hard to believe Chrysler went a step ahead and gave the user the option. But if so, that's cool. |

Can coasting in neutral damage an automatic transmission? Sure, in that edge case you can save fuel if you shift to neutral and turn the engine off. Whether the fuel saved outweighs the wear and tear from the engine stopping and starting is probably not a bad question to ask at that point. |

Can coasting in neutral damage an automatic transmission? Yeah, they are separate situations. Coasting in neutral is not going to hurt anything. |

Failing alternator, idler pulley, or something else? Are you able to take individual component belts off to test, or is a single serpentine system? |
