C-clamp stuck in brake caliper well, I got a guy to come down today to take a look. He said my work was fine, bleed-ed the brakes ($100 later) and everything is working now. Thanks for your help during this - it took a while, but we got there. |

C-clamp stuck in brake caliper I got the caliper back on with the brake pads in place... now, I started the car and pumped the brakes; I can't get any pressure, so I guess that is because I haven't yet bled the brakes and the system has air in it? I'm thinking I might call a mobile brake specialist to come around and bleed the brakes for me - do you recommend this? |

C-clamp stuck in brake caliper well, I put the old pad on the piston and gave it a little hit with a hammer; the piston moved into position and I was able to use my c-clamp to push it back into position. Now to re-attach the caliper and bleed the brakes as you mentioned. |

C-clamp stuck in brake caliper so, I bought a new c-clamp... using an old pad, it doesn't seem like it's possible to get the piston to move back into it's housing. I thought it might be possible to bolt up the caliper with the old pads and have someone press on the brake... but the piston is so far out (see picture above) that the old pads no longer fit. Any ideas? |
