1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Disc Brake Conversion Disc brakes don't grip well when they get wet, which can be a problem when off-roading. Their advantages (self-adjusting, easier to service, less fade when hot) more than make up for this, though. |

2003 Ford Escort ZX2 has creaky steering You could ask someone to check to see if they need to be lubed. Another possibility is your sway bar. If your bushings are starting to get hard or worn, they could creak as the weight transfers to one end. You should be able to check this by pushing down on the left front corner of the car. If it creaks or groans, that may be your culprit. |

Uneven rotation sounds when my car gets to 50-60 MPH @BobCross: Before balancing a new tire, they will remove all the old weights. I've never been to a place that cleaned off the old weight adhesive. |

What is the life expectancy of a Honda Civic Hybrid Continuously Variable Transmission? @BrianKnoblauch: Speaking as a former Civic Hybrid owner, there isn't a lot of power available to put down! This is pretty clearly a case of "provocative maintenance". |

Audi A4 '05 strange electrical problem? I remember it was fairly common in Paris for cars on narrow streets to park with two wheels on the sidewalk. Drivers there usually parked with their side lights on. |

Why does my engine perform poorly and get bad gas mileage after using fuel injector cleaner? I wonder how much of it was the new plugs. If you have a lot of build-up on your intake valves, when the fuel system cleaner dissolves it you can wind up with fouled plugs (and sticky exhaust valves). Normally this makes the car run rough, but modern ECUs and high-voltage ignition systems may be able to smooth that out. Glad you got it fixed! |
