Why don't FWD cars have rear differentials? @mac "Stub Axle" tends to be the phrase, there. |

Why don't FWD cars have rear differentials? I actually disagree a little with this - a differential is there to allow the wheels to turn at different speeds and there are plenty of examples of vehicles with a 'solid' drive axle. |

Why don't FWD cars have rear differentials? To expand on this, @Aerovistae, you may be getting confused after seeing cars with things like Twist Beam Suspension which can look like a solid axle from behind. |

How do I remove a pulley where I have no way of stopping it turning anti-clockwise, like I'm turning the nut? This isn't a real answer, but sometimes you can simply 'shock' the bolt off by hitting the wrench rather than turning it. |

08 f150 with vibration in the front driver side tire when turning left only. Have you re torqued all the bolts since doing the work? Are your CV joints okay, if applicable? Have you had the tracking/alignment/camber checked by a shop with a laser? |

Suzuki Access stops running during rains Couldn't disagree more - unless it's under warranty, main dealers / showrooms exist almost solely to charge you lots of money. Take it to a trusted, local, mechanic who knows the scooter well. |

Do I really need a lathe to turn my rotors? In the UK, the idea of turning rotors (Or discs as we call them) is completely alien. People consider discs good for a couple of pad changes and then simply replace them completely. |

Is alternator rating at pulley rpm or engine rpm? @NitroxDM Won't that only show current draw at that moment, rather than the maximum possible? |

Is alternator rating at pulley rpm or engine rpm? @mikes I always thought both were pretty curved and alternators came in for general efficiency etc. |

Stubborn oil drain plug caused by hot oil? @Xolstice You just need the answer to every stubborn bolt - a bigger bar and the correct socket. Don't kid yourself into thinking the shop will do anything different. I'd advise doing this while everything is cold, though. |

Does idle RPM increase when there is heavy load on the electrical system? I forgot to add, is that not a by product of the engine preventing a stall rather than trying to increase electrical output? |

Does idle RPM increase when there is heavy load on the electrical system? Ah, that's the interesting, thanks. The only things I've pushed very hard electrically are old non-FI engines, so it was all moot. |

Does idle RPM increase when there is heavy load on the electrical system? I don't think you're wrong, but I've driven many reasonably modern cars where the revs would drop noticeably when under load at idle. I think the only way to know with any certainty is to try. |
