2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Fails to Start and Electronics Go Awry "Weirdness" stinks of a battery failure, but we need more information. Have you attempted to jump or bump start the vehicle? |

Is alternator rating at pulley rpm or engine rpm? @NitroxDM Won't that only show current draw at that moment, rather than the maximum possible? |

Is alternator rating at pulley rpm or engine rpm? @mikes I always thought both were pretty curved and alternators came in for general efficiency etc. |

Stubborn oil drain plug caused by hot oil? Very fair point on the last bit! |

Stubborn oil drain plug caused by hot oil? @Xolstice You just need the answer to every stubborn bolt - a bigger bar and the correct socket. Don't kid yourself into thinking the shop will do anything different. I'd advise doing this while everything is cold, though. |

Does idle RPM increase when there is heavy load on the electrical system? I forgot to add, is that not a by product of the engine preventing a stall rather than trying to increase electrical output? |

Does idle RPM increase when there is heavy load on the electrical system? Ah, that's the interesting, thanks. The only things I've pushed very hard electrically are old non-FI engines, so it was all moot. |

Does idle RPM increase when there is heavy load on the electrical system? I don't think you're wrong, but I've driven many reasonably modern cars where the revs would drop noticeably when under load at idle. I think the only way to know with any certainty is to try. |

RPM fluctuation while idling An air leak would be my other guess |

Suzuki Access stops running during rains I can't edit my comment, but if the issue is the Air Filter then you should look at why the intake isn't waterproof. |

Windshield wipers worked intermittently then quit altogether The water pump and wipers will definitely be on different circuits and will therefore have separate fuses. |

RPM fluctuation while idling Is your car due a service? My first thought would be something like a MAF or lambda sensor, but if it's due some service items (Plugs, leads, air filter etc) then it might be worth doing that first. How does it run when you're above 1000rpm? And is it diesel or petrol? |

Suzuki Access stops running during rains Rain causing issues is certainly a common problem, but it's not one you have to live with. That said, it's all but impossible to diagnose without a lot more detail as we need to define "stops running". Your mechanics theory doesn't sound too out there, but it could also easily be an electrical issue. |

Are cabin air car filters a standard size? Apologies if I'm being dense, but your question mentions cabin air filters, but you've linked to normal engine air intake filters. |
