I'm going to check voltage and continuity with ground coming out of my stator at idle and 5k rpm. If it seems sufficient I'll check voltage coming out of my regulator/rectifier. Will post here later with the results.

Ah, fantastic troubleshooting process, thank you! Now to find 3 days where I can do without my car... One thing I don't understand is what would be energizing though. It's a very simple car. I do like the auto-rain sensing wipers and automatic headlight functions, but the rest is pretty much manual. Any ideas?
