Supposedly, if the head gasket really goes on a Zetec, you'll know, it'll over-pressurize the overflow tank and spit coolant out past the cap. If it's gone on the cylinder side, anyway. I've seen one report of it going on the other side and leaking to the outside.

Also, adding a brief statement such as "Make sure to adjust the gap on the plugs if they're not correctly preset for your application" would make this a much better answer.

If that's 110,000 miles (not kilometers), the plugs are due for a change if they're the ones that came on the car from the factory. If the timing belt is original, that's due for a change, also (assuming miles).

You really need to have those codes pulled, they could tell you exactly what the problem is. In the US, there are retail parts stores that will pull them for free, I'm not sure about the UK.
