What are the tell tale signs of a catalytic converter that might be going bad? Plugs on a 2006 G6 are good for 100,000 miles. If they go bad ahead of that, that's just a symptom, the real problem is somewhere else. |

Easy way to temporarily disable Check Engine light? IANAL, but this sounds like fraud to me. There is something wrong, or the powertrain controller wouldn't be throwing fault codes. |

HVAC is not blowing. Is it most likely the blower motor? Check the resistor pack. Normally if that's gone, the blower still works, just only on high. However, if the resistor pack overheats and the wiring melts (seen it happen)... |

How to extend the life of a worn motor? Fill 'er up with oil and check the gas. |

How to extend the life of a worn motor? This has to be in a state that does not do emission testing, right? |

How to extend the life of a worn motor? I've switched from 5W30 to 10W30 to slow down leaks in the summer. It was OK by manufacturer specs. It did slow down the loss rate. |

Are used tires valuable? They will most certainly sell them. Why let them have them unless some consideration is received for them? If the car is being donated and you're getting a tax writeoff, that is one thing, but just sending it straight to the boneyard yourself is another. |

Are used tires valuable? Somebody might be willing to come by, get the wheels off, and return them with a set of tires good enough for the trip to the boneyard. Possibly while even paying for the privilege of doing so. |

Are used tires valuable? Find a used tire shop and see if they'd give you anything to drive in with the winter tires and drive out with a set of barely street legal used tires. If the car is not mobile, you could put it on jackstands, pull the wheels and take them to the tire shop and have them swap the tires. One phone call / email will tell you. Anytime I'm forced to send a vehicle to the boneyard, this is what I do if there is any tread left on the tires. |

Will stock tires from a toyota yaris fit a 2004 cavalier When changing tire sizes, you'll probably to check to see what to do to make sure the speedometer and odometer are still accurate. Depending on the size change, they might not be off much. If nothing else, figure out how much they're off and in which direction. |
