Did you disconnect the battery? If it is trying to calibrate and you have a faulty component it may not be able to complete the process. Hopefully it will give up at some point. It might be trying to flash some kind of diagnostic code to you. Do you have automatic climate control?

Could be a parasitic drain, too. They're not uncommon in older vehicles.

comment What's making my coolant overflow?
A head gasket leak on the coolant side can actually overpressurize the overflow tank.

I don't find dash removals difficult, just tedious and time consuming (hunting for fasteners you missed is fun). You have to take notes/pictures to make sure you got everything back where it came from when you put it back together. I find it helpful to have different small bags for the fasteners that can be labeled as to where they go. Go slow and be gentle and you'll be fine. I wouldn't try it unless you could budget at least one whole day for it. If you want some practice, visit a pick-n-pull and take apart a similar vehicle. As an added bonus, you'll have spares in case you break something.

@abhi You might ask them if they have encountered a Caravan with similar issues to yours when selecting one.

@abhi Somebody that sees a lot of Dodge Caravans would probably be a good choice.

comment Low beam headlights out, High beam working
@JoshCaswell I meant 'electrically hot'. As in test light glows, multimeter shows some current flowing, etc. If the bulb module is getting juice from the tan wire and the low beam filament is not lighting up, the internal connection between the bulb pin for the tan wire and the filament is shot. There must be a separate internal connection to both filaments from the pin for the green wire since both filaments light up in high beam mode.

@Paulster2 With the warmer weather, I've been working on vehicles. I guess it has me fired up to solve problems.

@JuannStrauss I don't think so. Two different platforms, two different headlight setups.

Actually, it looks like you have separate high beam / low beam bulbs.
