Living near Aarhus, Denmark, I am working as a Systems Architect / Developer at CGI (formerly Logica.) Up-to-date profile is maintained on LinkedIn.

In my spare time I have been doing freelance development. However, lately I have found that spending my spare time with the computer turned off is a bliss.

My programming experience is mainly centered around , , and with , , and being the prevailing frameworks.

Turns out you remembered correctly. The base was mounted with a 8mm nut which also held the wire connector. It was an easy fix :)

comment What is the correct way to clean and lubricate the chain of a Yamaha FZ 16?
As for the chain lubrication, buy a (spray) can of good chain lube and apply a layer to the inside of the chain (i.e., the side of the chain that has direct contact with the two sprockets.) This is easily done with a helper pushing the bike forward and you lubricating (or, if you have a stand, use that). (random video illustrating chain lubrication)

comment Motorcycle starter sometimes clicks, but doesn't start - tapping with hammer helps it start
@RoryAlsop There may be some degree of truth to that :) Had OP's bike been a '80 Suzuki worth next to nothing, the cheap brush fix would probably have been more reasonable than on a '07 HD.
