Hi Charles. Welcome to MVM&R. It appears that you have asked the same question twice. I have flagged your other question to be closed as this was the most complete of the two :)

comment Honda XR650l first ride after winterization
The engine turning should have nothing to do with fuel. Did you disconnect (remove?) the battery before leaving the bike? Check battery connections and recharge battery.

@AndréDaniel That's good to know. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice :)

@AndréDaniel I did try a fair amount of witchcraft but not disconnecting the battery for more than 5-10 minutes.

comment Modifying BMW 1.16i to have more horsepower
Although bigger / more powerful engines does not necessarily consume more fuel I have a hard time following the logic presented that more horsepower should lead to lower consumption on a physically unaltered engine. Engine tuning may lead to higher fuel efficiency but typically more horsepower is partially achieved via burning more fuel.

comment If my brakes overheat, do they need to be replaced?
@andrewb I'm far from certain :) I guess what I'm trying to say is; my main concern would be warped discs (which would probably need replacement) and air bubbles in the (closed) fluid system.
