A compact vehicle produced by Honda offered in sedan and coupe versions. Originally introduced in 1972 as a subcompact model, each generation has typically seen size increases. Good fuel economy has been major selling point for the vehicle. This has remained a feature even as the size of the vehicle has increased. Currently Honda offers alternate fuel versions including a hybrid model and a natural gas that extend fuel savings.

Most generations of the US civic are sold international under the civic name or a variant of the civic name. Some international versions are modified or offer submodels that are not available in the US.
